Enjoy...The List:

  • Delete the word "can't" from your vocabulary. Anything is Possible."
  • Add some levity to your day by doing something that you've never done before. Wear your shoes on the wrong foot or try some new food or walk with a different step. What's the point? To lighten up!
  • Take time to define your role in the company. Just like you can waste a lot of time in a day if you aren't focused, you can spend weeks, months, or years being ineffective if you don't take the time to define your most important responsibilities.

Example: "As manager, my main duties are to...."

It won't take more than 5 minutes, but it can end up paying huge rewards.
  • Every major corporation has a Research & Development Department to plan for future growth and changes. Part of YOUR everyday should include a little R&D too. Then you can get your R&R.
  • Comparing yourself to someone and feeling bad is utterly useless when there is someone else you could compare yourself to who was in your spot and found a way to the goal.
  • Einstein had a lot of information floating around in his brain. Is it strange to you that the basis of his biggest theory was formulated while he was asleep? When you try really hard to remember something, why does it come to you as you fall asleep? Because when you're feeling good, feeling easy, feeling relaxed - your body works better. Are you pushing too hard?
  • Today there are more millionaires than ever before while billionaires are younger and younger. Ignore doomsday predictions - unless you can figure out how to profit from them, as the media has.
  • When you have an $8/hr job and you need to improve your finances, getting a second $8/hr job isn't how to move up the scale. You have to increase the value of your time.
  • When it rains, someone is making money. When it snows, someone makes money. People profit from peace. People profit from war. For every 'thing' - people have figured out how to profit from it on a large scale, and a small one. Therefore, you have no valid excuse to not find a way. There is ALWAYS a way.
  • When you rarely finish things, you lose trust in yourself. And when you don't trust you - you cannot succeed. Build it back by making small promises to yourself and carrying through. Make upgrades on a monthly basis - but start making promises and Keeping them. Pretty soon you'll be able to make huge claims - but you'll do it knowing that you keep your word to yourself - and the outcome will be different.
  • If you have a problem that you can't find the solution to, write it at the top of a page and then list as many possible solutions as you can. Leave it, but then add to it regularly as new thoughts pop into your mind until you have 100 possible solutions. Writing is a great way to create laser-like focus. You can also try pondering solutions while you're on a nice drive. An enjoyable drive can have a meditative-like effect. These are 2 very effective states of mind in which you can oftentimes find answers rather quickly.
  • Sometimes having the attention span of a 2-year-old is a fantastic blessing. Pay attention to something that is fun and interesting, and if that changes in the next moment - go with it. Isn't that what going with the flow is?
  • "Just do it" is a great phrase about seizing the moment. But if you're unsure about some action, maybe a better phrase would be: "Just hold on a second." A little thought goes a long way, but too much thought gets in the way. Where are you?
  • You've climbed beyond a common plateau when you leave behind the idea of luck, accidents, and chance. At that point you will be in the driver's seat of your life with the true understanding that you get to go wherever you want. It's your decision. Now Choose.
  • There is no luck. Delete it from your vocabulary. Disregard it when you hear it. People say 'luck' when they do not understand the 'how' of something. Just as they used to say certain types of medicines were 'witchcraft' or that the sun was a 'god' - they didn't know any better. So some people still say 'luck', but now YOU know better.
  • When you're in the fog and you try harder by using your high-beams, you see less and make things worse. Same goes for a "foggy patch" of business - If you get frustrated and from there you try harder - you'll only make things worse. You won't "see" opportunities. Switch to your low beams, see what you can see, do what you know you can do, and pretty soon you'll come out of the fog.
  • Do you know that in order to successfully incubate a baby duckling, you need to turn the egg at least once every four hours? Your business is your baby - make sure you are 'keeping it warm' on all sides or you might 'give birth' to a 1-armed, featherless, double-headed monster instead of that little fluffball. Are you focusing on one part of your business and neglecting the rest?
  • Starting and stopping projects because you're following your bliss Vs. Starting and stopping projects out of frustration. It's the difference between Complete Success, and Utter Failure. So if you're in a loop - wondering if it's going to get better - here is your guidepost.
  • Beauty inspires. So write down all the ways you see it, hear it, feel it, experience it - and make sure you're getting 5 healthy servings per day. It's the most underrated foodgroup.
  • When you have a new idea - write it down. There is a tension created in your brain when you try to remember it for later. You cut off the flow. But once you write it down, your brain relaxes, the gates remain open, and the ideas pour out. Do your future new ideas a favor - help them in by writing down your current thoughts. You will be shocked at how effective this is.
  • Water. It can take any shape, surround anything, fill anything - and it's still powerful enough to cut solid stone. As much as you feel the human tendency to form a routine in your business - remember water. Recognize when you need to Adapt. Make the change, and Lead.
  • If you are trying to persuade someone to your way of thinking, or trying to motivate someone to a certain action, then see them doing it in your mind, know that what is best for them will happen, and only THEN offer words that come to you from that state of mind. Never try to speak to someone from a place of worry, doubt, or insecurity - the right combination of words will not come. First you have to BE in the state of mind you want the other to join you in before your words will be effective at all. Be the example first.
  • Successful people plan for success. Here's how to join them tomorrow: When you wake up in the morning, do whatever it is you do - but before you leave your room - make a list of what you expect to do for your business that day. Even if it might be "get closer to knowing about X" - make your plan everyday, and after a month - see how far you've come. You're likely to find that you'll make more progress in a month of planning, than 3 months without.
  • When you are 'tapped in' to success, ANYTHING can potentially help you on your journey. Practice tapping in by looking at "seemingly ordinary" things and asking yourself: "How could this help me with the current problem I'm facing." The more you practice tapping in, the more likely you are to LOCK ON, and once you lock on - you will hit your target.

(I have to be honest: I really enjoyed coming up with this [above] quote.)
  • Developing Leadership. Make more decisions everyday. Before you ask for someone's opinion about something, come up with your own first. Don't wait to be influenced. The more decisions you make, the more you learn about yourself. This will force you to get in touch with yourself, and a true leader is absolutely in touch.
  • Breathe for business. It's said that if you're angry, count to ten. When you're angry you take shorter breaths, your brain gets less oxygen and you literally make worse decisions because your body isn't functioning. Start paying attention to when your breathing is shortened. The next time you have a big decision to make, do your brain, and your future a favor by taking some nice, big, deep, lung-expanding breaths. And then decide.
  • The mind sets billions of bodily processes on autopilot, no need to think about them at all, even though they keep you alive. The mind also sets dozens or hundreds of behavioral processes on autopilot - they're called habits. They make life easier except when they don't serve you. Instead of trying to delete those ill-formed habits, replace them. Start by adding 1 small positive habit to your routine. And after 2 months add 1 more. Your focus will shift while you concentrate on forming this new habit - and you'll notice poorer habits falling away. Create a new habit.
  • Your greatest ideas can come to you when you set your intention and then quiet your mind. Use music, use meditation. Go for a drive, go for a run or a nice walk - but do something every day to quiet your mind. Give your instincts a chance to help you.
  • Statistics only tell you what the ‘average’ has done in a given situation. You are completely unique, as are your circumstances, and so if a statistic doesn’t favor you – throw it out. Delete it. Disregard it entirely. From now on decide that you will use them as politicians use them: refer to them ONLY when they help you. The reality is – Statistics have nothing to do with you. You can do anything.
  • Here's the thing about timing, the more you fret over it, the more it gets in the way, and the less you care about it - the more it works for you. So don't set "hard" goals of 'This must be done by this time.' Your energy is all clumped up and you're less effective. Set it as the goal and don't even factor time into it. On your journey, time is a fact and worry is a backpack full of bricks. Put it down and go for a jog or hitch a ride or walk and enjoy the view. The more able you are to set time aside, the better off you'll be.
  • When you can't seem to find a solution, try to change your perspective. That can be as easy as asking someone else for their perspective or just assuming something else is true about the problem. It can even be as easy as thinking about it while you're doing something differently: try walking in a park or sitting by a fire or driving in a car or while you're watching a sunset or listening to waves or smelling the air after a rain. The perspective you have is stopping you - change it and you'll change the outcome, and the fact that all these are enjoyable things...is no accident.
  • Don't get hung up on this one deal, or this one client, or this one opportunity - the supply never runs out and the whole world will never be your customer. Just make sure that you have things set up as you want them to be - and let the ones who are ready come to you. Personally and Professionally move to the beat of YOUR OWN drum. Reset assured: Your rhythm will draw a crowd. That's confidence.
  • The devil is in the details. Usually that refers to people making mistakes when you look at the nitty gritty aspects of something. But when it comes to planning your business future - the devil can BE the details. You can have an idea and love it, but not having all the details as to 'how' things will work out can discourage you from taking action. Plan what you can. Take the actions you know, and as long as you're driving with your passion up front - it will always work out for you. Don't get hung up on details that don't affect you right now. Line up what you can and GO.
  • You're always growing in body - literally you have completely new cells in 3 months - and in mind. You're a different person so you need to periodically look where you are and redefine where you're going. As you approach old goals - be ready to start setting new ones. Keep the Passion Alive. That's the key to youth and vitality, and it's the Key to Success.
  • When you see that someone else has something that you DON'T have and you feel jealous - you are in that moment moving away from everything you want. Your goal is to be on the SAME wavelength as successful people - not on the OPPOSITE wavelength. So next time, instead of wasting time being jealous, use that time wisely - and take notes.
  • If you see someone who is financially successful, but unhealthy - only take financial notes. If you see someone who is successful in health, but financially poor - only take health notes. If someone has many friends but no real close connections - then take friendly notes. When you're dealing with other people, take what serves you and leave the rest. Use this method to design your idea of the perfect person - plan for it - and then live it.
  • What do you say more: "Wouldn't it be great if..." or "Don't you hate it when..."? Try going 7 days tipping the scale at a 3:1 ratio, 'greats' to 'hates'. You might find that some people don't relate to you as well without those 'hates' and you might learn that others suddenly DO relate with you better after making this small change. In either case: GOOD.
  • An expert told a first-time actor that he would never amount to anything. That actor became Harrison Ford. The talent expert, Simon Cowell, from American Idol, broke his own deal with a singer/impersonator/ventriloquist -- who was immediately contacted by a theatre in Las Vegas and signed a $100 Million Dollar Deal. "Experts" are wrong so often - that their limiting opinion of your potential shouldn't matter to you. Find your passion - and let no one dissuade you.
  • When someone is drilling on the floor beneath you - creative thoughts will flow to you -- when you are somewhere else.
  • When you've reached the point where you can honestly say: "I don't care what you think I'm going to get what I want." What you want is never far away. At first this thought might come in the form of anger - but once you truly believe it - it just becomes another fact - like: A circle is round. You don't get angry about it. You don't get defensive about it. You don't question it. It just IS.
  • Leadership is more about YOU than it is about other people. Confidence. Stability. Balance. Display these qualities and people will get behind you. Display insecurity, boredom, or distress and it doesn't matter how many books you read - it won't matter what combination of words you use - people will not follow. Start with YOU. Start.
  • Burnout happens when you do something so much that you become sick of it. But even though everyone eats multiple times per day, almost no one experiences food burnout. It's not because we need to eat - try to eat only 1 thing day after day and you'll be one of the few to experience food burnout. The key is VARIETY. Try sprinkling a little bit of variety in your work. Do something differently - play with it more. Afterall, Variety is the spice of life, and that includes your business life too. Try it.
  • Success isn't about taking MASSIVE action or IMMEDIATE action. It's about taking repeated action from the RIGHT state of mind.
  • Watching the business of politics is more helpful than the politics of business. Look for ideas that help YOU and don't get wrapped up in what everyone ELSE is doing.
  • A good leader knows how to make decisions on his or her own, but a great leader can take input from many people or sources - and without feeling pressure to please someone else - uses that information to come to the best decision possible.
  • New Ideas are as abundant as A I R. So if you see your idea implemented by someone else before you - just take notes on how they succeeded and prepare for your next one. With that attitude, it'll come right to you.
  • Whenever you're driving somewhere, you have the destination in mind. But during your drive you hit markers, you see points along the way that show you that you're headed in the right direction. You know that you'll get there eventually. Do the same thing with your business goals by setting milestones or stepping stones along the way. Break them up as small as you want - and as long as you hit the small ones you can feel comfortably reassured that the big goal is inevitable. Feel good on your journey, by setting milestones.
  • There is so much success on so many levels in this world - that to feel bad about something that isn't working would be an incredible waste of time. It takes 3 seconds to define a problem now spend 99% of your time drumming up solutions - being creative and playing with it. That's how problems get solved. That's how inventions are born.
  • The power of perspective is undeniable. Your perspective on things shapes your reactions and determines the results. Exercise holding different perspectives to keep your mind limber so you don't crust up from stagnation. Here's how: Try to honestly say this sentence at least once, everyday of your life: "Well, I've never done that before." New experiences. New perspectives. New results.
  • Just as your company has a mission statement, your life should have one too. Benjamin Franklin made a list of all the qualities he thought were ideal and graded himself on a daily or weekly basis as to how well he did. Be you, but be the BEST you by giving your life a mission and accomplishing it on a daily basis. That's Integrity.
  • An Entrepreneur is someone who knows his craft, creatively applies it, and masters it again and again with the understanding that things are always changing.

A basketball player or pianist can be an entrepreneur just as much as a business owner. Whatever you choose to be - be ENTREPRENEURIAL about it.
  • Every time you criticize, you miss another opportunity to gain something: A great idea, a fun experience, a meaningful relationship. And anyway - it feels better to think well of someone. It feels MUCH better.
  • People look down on "changing your mind" in politics, business, and other areas too - but life is like a spiral: You'll revisit many of the same topics over and over again but each time you do, you'll be at a different height. You'll have a new perspective. Because you are in a state....of perpetual change.

That's why when you develop too many routines - you struggle against the natural rhythms of life. Don't be afraid to make changes. Relax into that idea.
  • You aren't not the only person who can't not stop you. (The only original way to say: You're the only one who can stop you.)
  • You can 'Reset' a bad day by meditating with the intention of feeling great - or if meditation still sounds strange to you - take a 20 minute catnap with the same intention. Be in silence or use something soothing if that will boost the experience for you. No more stubbing your toe through the day. Press Reset.
  • "All emotions are pain." -Buddha.

See. Experts aren't always right. It's a learning process that never ends so enjoy where you are NOW.
  • Have you ever noticed that when you get lost, 1 mile can seem like 10? Each step is unenjoyable when you don't know if it's leading to your destination. But when you know you're going the right way you can relax and enjoy the drive. 10 miles feel like 1.

If you don't set milestones along the way to your goal, then you'll never know IF you're moving toward it, how CLOSE you are to it, and you won't continue on that path for very long.

    Set Milestones.
  • When you expect the best in people, you draw that from them. Do your partners, your workers, and your business a favor by expecting them to perform at their best.

If you catch yourself muttering their incompetencies correct your mental dialogue. Don't set-up those negative expectations or you'll create a cycle that will be more difficult to turn around.

Start a POSITIVE mental dialogue about everyone you work with. It may seem forced at first, but soon it becomes a fantastic habit. Watch how people change.
  • Money gets a bad rap. People blame it for this problem, that one, and the other. Meanwhile it shelters, clothes, and feeds billions of people.

If you get an idea that you think will make a ton of money and the idea of that MONEY gets you excited - well that's as good a reason as any to start a business.

Base it on EXCITEMENT. Work it on EXCITEMENT. EXCITEMENT is a great feeling.
  • Take a notepad and a pen, and go somewhere new. When you get there - get comfortable and think about some aspect of your business.

The 'newness' will penetrate everything: Your eyes, your sense of smell, your ears - even your thoughts.

    Want new ideas?
    Go somewhere new.
  • Why is it when someone really, really wants something, they rarely ever get it?

Because when people want something so badly, they usually feel badly when they think of it. And when they feel badly, for whatever reason, their thinking about it is 'off' and so their strategy, their plan, their actions - everything is offcourse.

That's why when people give up - that can be right when it shows up. When everything relaxes, your whole being is more efficient.

Maybe you need to EASE UP to succeed.
  • 24 hours in a day. Thousands of thoughts. Have you ever wondered how many feel bad VS. how many feel good?

How many are: Ouch, my knee again. Who was stabbed to death? Why are they talking like that? This service is snail-like. Something ELSE is broken?

How many are: Wow - that's a great smell. He made HOW MUCH from his business? I'm good at this - that's a fact. LOOK at that car, or the moon, or the stars, or the flowers etc....

DO tip the balance to 52% good - and WATCH what happens in your life.
  • Don't let anyone fool you into believing that you are dependent on someone else. You ARE Independent.

Never miss an opportunity to see it in yourself because the feeling of Independence creates Confidence.

When you feel Independent, and then you feel Confident - you will very soon EXPERIENCE success.
  • The sooner you realize that what you think about and talk about is what you later experience - the sooner you can purposefully think and talk about the things you want.

Find like-minded people and bounce that energy around on a regular basis.

Take some mental action towards the things you want.
  • Each one of your days should inclue:
    PLAY. WORK. REST.
    (Sometimes work IS play.)

Notice that when you're missing one of these from your day - there's "something missing."

Prioritize your work schedule but make sure you include some Fun and some Rest.

Include these 3 essentials to Enjoy more of Your Day.
  • Change is Natural, Constant, and Permanent - accept it and flow with it. Personal lives and companies that struggle against it quickly dis-integrate, they fall apart.

Ride the Waves. Don't stand in front of them.
  • It's been said that "Applied knoweldge is power." But it's not. Applying your knowledge of riding a bike when you're rollerblading will not help you feel power.

    PROPERLY applied knowledge is power.

Sometimes you already have all the tools you need - you just need to tweak the way you're using your knowledge.

Look for ways to rearrange what you already know. New applications will yield new results.
  • Practice FEELING like a success a little bit each day.

    Get used to it.

Slowly make it your dominant feeling because from that state of mind you'll take different actions, draw new people into your life, open or reopen doors that will lead you - to the success that at one time seemed so elusive.
  • Get used to it: There will always be improvements to be made. There will always be a newer, better way to do it. There will always be a new, more efficient skill.

This is a GOOD thing because you don't ever have to feel down about running out of ideas, or being 'blocked', or being held back.

There is ALWAYS potential for 'better'.

Now - knowing that EVERYTHING can be improved upon - what ideas do YOU have? Or have you already found one?
  • Your emotions don't come from others - they only come in response to your own thoughts. And when you feel good - that means you're moving in the direction of all you want. When you feel bad - you're moving away from everything you've ever wanted.

Learn these 3 principles. Master them, and you will have mastered life.
  • Don't put too much stock into "the rules". If you're going after a certain position within a business, or a school, or trying to form a partnership with a different company - Rules need not apply to you if you KNOW you want something and you KNOW it will be good for you.

This isn't about lying. It's about those times where you didn't take action for something you wanted because you thought it didn't follow 'social rules' or 'partnership rules' or 'hiring guidelines'.

People want to support and be around others who are passionate. And sometimes...breaking the rules is the best way to your goal.
  • The athlete spends most of his time focusing, visualizing - because most of the time he trains with an imaginary opponent.

Being an Entrepreneur it's easy to forget about the value of training and visualizing because you get wrapped up in the day-to-day activities.

As you watch the Olympians these few weeks notice the focus that continues right up until the moment of action.

Want a Gold Medal in your business?
    Apply that very same principle.
  • You're at your best when you KNOW what you're doing because you put out an authentic energy that people pick up on and respond to.

Conmen are great focusers because the good ones believe the lie and emit that magnetic, authentic energy.

KNOW that you can sell it, make it, or do it OR regularly practice what knowing feels like. Soon after you know it - you experience it.
  • If you work really hard and accomplish very little - while other people play games and accomplish very much (financially speaking) - then 'Hard Work' DOES NOT EQUAL 'Success'.

    Doesn't that make you think?

There's a system for achieving everything. So if not 'hard work' - what could it be?
  • If you feel like you're stuck - try doing less but on a more consistent basis. Most people throw in the towel just before they have a breakthrough and it's because they put in 'so much effort' and weren't able to expend that amount of energy long enough.

Watch how quickly small deposits add up when you put more emphasis on consistency and quality rather than quantity.

  • Success AttitudeUsain Bolt did what had never been done before in the history of the Olympics. Did you notice his attitude?

Even seconds before the race bgan he was smiling and playing.
